Enrichment Program A free after school program is offered on site. Through a variety of unique classes we give special attention to reading, math, music, art, dance, technology, science, cooking, media and recreational topics. Homework tutoring is provided by WISE staff and volunteers from the University of Minnesota’s Y-Tutors program.
Community Outreach exists to create an emotionally and physically safe environment for children and families to extend their learning about themselves and the world around them. Click here to learn more.
Drum and Dance The customs and history of West Africa come to life in our dynamic performance group. Participants travel throughout the Twin Cities to showcase high-energy rhythms and dance.
WISE Kids Eat Well With the University of Minnesota and Northpoint Health and Wellness Center we have created a program to work with families in order to establish healthy eating habits at home and at school. Click here to learn more.
Basketball In 2007 WISE founded their first organized basketball team, the WISE Sankofas. The team played in an inter-Charter School league and was composed of both boys and girls. During their inaugural season the Sankofas went an impressive 7-1.
Choir Students of all different ages and grade levels join to sing gospel, traditional and contemporary music. The choir performs at concerts and recitals throughout the year.
