Welcome to the Kindergarten program at WISE Charter School! I look
forward to fostering academic growth and confidence, and most of all, to
developing a special relationship with you and your child. I believe a
successful experience in the classroom relies heavily on a strong
partnership between parents and teachers. This is a top priority for me.
No one knows your child better than you do, so please feel free to comment,
ask questions, or even make suggestions about how we can better meet
your child’s (or your) specific needs and wants.
A typical day in our room will include a balance of group and individual
interactions, math, writing, reading, social studies or science and many
other fun and exciting projects and activities to engage your child. With that
said, there is also time and space for relaxation. Quiet time is scheduled
immediately after lunch.
Please read our weekly newsletter to learn more about what we will be
exploring and learning in class. Our newsletter will always be sent home
the first day of the week in your child’shomework folder. This folder will
also be used to communicate with you daily about your child’s day, please
sign the communicationssheet each night when you go over homework
with your child. In addition to sending home our newsletter, it will be
posted on the parent board right inside the door to our room. This board
will also provide information about volunteer opportunities as well as a ring
of information on fun family outings and events in the metro area for your
perusal.
I look forward to meeting and working with you and your child. We are sure
to have an exciting and enlightening year. See you soon!
~ Miss B.
